Shadow Rocket
Jenny stepped out of the house and into the cool autumn air, her breath forming small clouds in front of her face. She pulled her jacket tighter around her, trying to ward off the chill as she made her way to the bus stop. The streets were quiet in the early morning hours, the only sound being the occasional rumble of a passing car.
As she waited for the bus, Jenny let her mind wander, thinking about the day ahead. She had a busy schedule planned, with meetings and appointments filling up her calendar. But in the back of her mind, there was something else nagging at her - a feeling of unease that she couldn't quite shake.
The bus arrived with a hiss of air brakes, and Jenny climbed aboard, taking a seat near the back. She watched as the city passed by outside the window, the buildings and streets blending together in a blur of gray and brown. She closed her eyes, trying to relax and push aside her worries.
But as the bus rumbled on, Jenny's unease grew stronger. She felt like she was being watched, like there was someone - or something - following her. She peered out the window, scanning the sidewalks and alleyways for any sign of danger. But all she saw was the usual hustle and bustle of the city, with people going about their daily lives.
Just as Jenny was starting to think she was being paranoid, she spotted a figure out of the corner of her eye. A shadowy figure in a hooded cloak, moving swiftly through the crowd. Jenny's heart skipped a beat as she realized that the figure was heading straight for her.
Panic gripped her as she frantically looked around for help, but the other passengers were oblivious to the danger. The figure drew closer, its face hidden in the darkness of the hood. Jenny's mind raced, trying to come up with a plan to escape.
Just as the figure reached out a hand to grab her, Jenny's instincts kicked in. With a sudden burst of speed and agility, she dived out of her seat and made a run for the exit. The figure cursed in frustration and gave chase, its cloak billowing behind it like a shroud.
Jenny sprinted down the aisle of the bus, her heart pounding in her chest. She could hear the figure gaining on her, its footsteps echoing in the confined space. Just as she reached the door, a burst of adrenaline surged through her and she leaped out into the street.
The figure followed close behind, its cloak flapping in the wind. But Jenny was faster, her fear giving her wings as she dodged through the crowd. She ducked into an alleyway and disappeared from sight, her pursuer losing track of her in the maze of streets.
Breathless and heart racing, Jenny finally stopped running and leaned against a wall, trying to catch her breath. She looked back the way she had come, but there was no sign of the shadowy figure. It seemed like she had lost her would-be attacker.
As she stood there, trying to calm her nerves, Jenny realized that she had just narrowly escaped a dangerous situation. She didn't know who the figure was or why they had been following her, but one thing was for sure - she needed to be more careful from now on.
With a shudder, Jenny quickly made her way to her first appointment, keeping a wary eye out for any signs of danger. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched, but she had survived the encounter with the shadow rocket. And she was determined not to let it happen again.
