HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is a form of copy protection that prevents unauthorized copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across different devices. It is commonly used in devices such as Blu-ray players, streaming devices, and gaming consoles to prevent illegal distribution and piracy of copyrighted material. HDCP works by encrypting the content as it is transmitted between devices, requiring both the sending and receiving device to support HDCP in order to view the content. Failure to support HDCP can result in a blank screen or reduced video quality.
